Mrs. Ima Jean Woods, 75, of Hogansville and formerly of Blountstown, FL and Southport, FL, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Mrs. Woods was born February 3, 1941, in Dale County, Alabama, daughter of the late James and Estelle Hartzog Cureton. Before making her home in Hogansville four years ago, she lived in Blountstown, Florida and was a member of Lighthouse Holiness Church. She enjoyed gospel music and was known as a loving grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her son, James A. Woods of Hogansville; grandchildren, Cassie Waltz, Bradley Waltz, Darrell Waltz, Cassandra Woods, Justin Woods, and Allison Higginbotham; great-grandchildren, Melanya Avery Martin and Savannah Waltz; and brother, Johnny Cureton, of Fountain, FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Woods; daughter, Kira Lynn Higginbotham; and grandson, James Avery Woods.
The family will receive friends at the Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home from 6 until 8 Monday night. Mrs. Woods will then be carried to Southerland Family Funeral Home in Panama City, Florida where visitation, funeral services, and burial will be conducted later in the week.
