Mr. Elmer Williams, 87, of Hogansville, passed away May 2, 2023, at Florence Hand Home in LaGrange.
Mr. Williams was born June 4, 1935, in LaGrange, son of the late Hugh Milton Williams and Nancy Landers Williams. Raised in the Pine Hill Community of Randolph County, AL, he was a veteran of service in the U.S. Army, retired as a machinist from Uniroyal, Inc. after 30 years of service, and retired from West Georgia Medical Center after 20 years of service. He was a deacon of Living Waters Baptist Church, was an avid golfer, and loved to watch sports, especially the Braves and the Falcons. He enjoyed high school athletics and was a long-time supporter of Callaway High Basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Williams of Hogansville; son, Brian and Paula Williams of Brandon, MS; grandsons, Tyler Williams, Taylor Williams, and Trevor Williams of Brandon. He was preceded in death by his son, Myron J. Williams; and sisters, Ruth Pruitt, Elsie McCullars, and Clara Daniel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, May 7, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Woody Woodard and the Reverend S.T. Janney will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday.
