REV. HUBERT J. FLOURNOY
The Reverend Hubert J. Flournoy, 77, of Newnan, died Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 1, at Westside Baptist Church in Newnan. Dr. Melvin Payne and the Reverend Alton Midgett will officiate, with interment in Meadows Cemetery in Grantville.
Born August 26, 1933, in Pike County, Mr. Flournoy was the son of the late Hubert Earl Flournoy and the late Lucille Hancock Flournoy Braswell. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, lived in Coweta County most of his life, and was retired from William L. Bonnell Company. He served as minister for many years, was a member of Westside Baptist Church, and had a radio ministry at WNEA in Newnan for 41 years.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Flournoy of Newnan; daughter and son in-law, Sandra and Donald Johnson of Moreland; sons and daughters in-law, James Randall and Lynn Flournoy of Greenville and Levi and Toon Flournoy of Moreland; sisters, Evelyn Spivey-Travis of Hogansville, Sara O'Neal of Alvaton, Mae Barber of Luthersville, and Gladys Bishop of Newnan; brothers, Bobby Flournoy of Newnan, Charles Flournoy of Luthersville, and Billy Flournoy of Moreland; six grandchildren, LeAnn Stokes, Will Johnson, Sandy Vonzdasy, Timothy Flournoy, Cody Flournoy, and Heather Freeman; and great-granddaughter, Sky Ann Stokes.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
