Howard Edward Pharr

MR. HOWARD E. PHARR Mr. Howard Edward Pharr, age 84, of Woodland, Alabama, died Friday, February 27, 2009, at Wedowee Hospital, in Wedowee, Alabama. Mr. Pharr was born July 8, 1924, in Atlanta, son of the late James Clarence Pharr and the late Myrtle Ethel Phillips Pharr. Before recently making his home in Woodland, he lived in Orange Park, Florida over fifty years and was a retired civil service employee. Survivors include his brothers, Hubert Franklin Pharr of Woodland and Clarence Bomar Pharr of Cleveland, Ohio; his sisters, Christine Elizabeth (Lib) Maxwell of Hogansville and Doris Ellen Cook of Canton; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Melton Pharr. A graveside memorial service will be conducted at a later time in Florida. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
