Howard Earl Lowe

Mr. Howard E. Lowe, 81, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, September 25, 2017, at Insignia of Newnan. Mr. Lowe was born October 22, 1935, in Taylor County, son of the late William Laney Lowe and Frances Elizabeth Post Lowe. He retired after twenty years of service in the U. S. Navy and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Following his military retirement, he lived in the Warner Robins area and was employed at Pabst Brewing Company, and then moved to Hogansville twenty years ago, where he was a member and deacon of Highland Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Edwin Lowe of Hogansville; sons, Richard and Patricia Lowe of Stockbridge, Michael Lowe of Columbus; step-daughter, Nancy and Art Raven of Lyman, SC; sisters, Elba Wainwright of Butler, Sue Neisler of Montezuma; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Frances Pearce Lowe. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend James Calhoun officiating. Interment with military honors will be at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, at Turner Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery near Butler, with the Reverend Phil Bozeman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
