Mr. Howard E. Barnes, 57, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016, at Midtown Medical Center in Columbus.
Mr. Barnes was born March 5, 1959, in Atlanta and lived in Hogansville most of his life. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for Cato Grading Co. and was a member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Barnes; daughter, April Johnson; sons and daughters in-law, Bill and Angie Freiberg, David and Pam Freiberg, all of Hogansville; his mother, Girleene Barnes, also of Hogansville; sister, Pat Hamill of LaGrange; brothers, Ronald Barnes of Grantville, Tim Barnes of Duluth; fifteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin C. Barnes; and, his brother, Ricky L. Barnes passed away on September 14.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, September 18, at Springhill Baptist Church, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m., Sunday.
