REV. HORICE MITCHELL
Rev. Horice Mitchell, 77, of Hogansville, died Friday, June 15, 2012, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Calhoun and Tim Moore will officiate and interment will be in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in Meriwether County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Saturday night.
Mr. Mitchell was born Decmeber 28, 1934, in Sunny South, Alabama, son of the late Zadock and Carrie Harvell Mitchell. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he had been a resident of the Hogansville area since 1960 and was a retired building contractor. He was serving as pastor of the Country House of Prayer in Franklin.
Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Matthew and Kim Mitchell of Grantville; daughters and sons in-law, Crystal and Tim Moore, Bernice and Richard Stephens, all of Hogansville, Virginia and Ricky Elkins of Franklin; brothers, Clarence Mitchell of Peachtree City, Zadock Mitchell, Jr. of Fulton, AL, Koss Mitchell of Tennessee; sister, Nancy White of Franklin; and his twin sister, Doris Hill of Thomaston, AL; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Hosmer Mitchell.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
