Mr. Homer Rodney Garrison, 74, of Roanoke, Alabama, passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Garrison was born January 2, 1943, in Hogansville, son of the late James Homer Garrison and Sybil Sheets Garrison. A 1961 graduate of Hogansville High School, he served in the U.S. Air Force in England and France and retired from Atlanta Nisseki Ciaf, Inc. He had lived in Randolph County, Alabama since 1993 and was Baptist by faith. Mr. Garrison enjoyed reading and watching television, but especially loved anything technical or mechanical and had subscribed to Popular Mechanics for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Merrill and Melissa Garrison, both of LaGrange; brothers, Danny Garrison of Leland, NC, Steve Garrison of Cumming, Dennis Garrison of Ft. Pierce, FL; and grandchildren, Alyssa Brazil, Bridget Brazil, Mekenzie Merrill, and Mollie Spradlin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Anderson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Rev. Dr. Lamar Truitt will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night.
