MR. HEWLETT HUNT, SR.
Mr. Hewlett Hunt, Sr., 76, of Hogansville, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at his home.
Mr. Hunt was born July 7, 1934, in Troup County, son of the late Jeff A. Hunt, Sr. and the late Lela Dorrough Hunt. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he lived in Hogansville most of his life and was a retired carpenter. He was a member of American Legion Post 152 and the Hogansville Golf Club.
Survivors include his companion of over 50 years, Dorothy Hunt of Hogansville; his children, Billy Hunt and his wife, Sarah, of West Point, Tammy Hunt of Hogansville, Ray Hunt of LaGrange, Marsha Hunt of Fredericksburg, VA; sister, Jewel Gaddy of Hogansville; brother, Arnold Hunt of Franklin; and six grandsons, Ronnie Hunt, Tim Hunt, Anthony Hunt, Hunter Hunt, Dylan Hunt, and Aiden Hunt.
According to Mr. Hunt's wishes, the body has been cremated and a memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, at his home, 142 American Legion Rd. in Hogansville, with the Reverend Lee Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends immediately before and after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, 7020 AC Skinner Pkwy., Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
