MR. HERMAN WATKINS Mr. Herman Watkins, 79, of Hogansville, died Sunday, September 14, 2008, at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend J. E. Thornton will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery. Born September 28, 1928, in Troup county, Mr. Watkins was the son of the late Ambus and Gertrude Craven Watkins. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion. He lived in Hogansville and Grantville most of his life and attended the First Assembly of God in Hogansville. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Carol and Mark Maxwell of Roopville; one sister, Bertha Gaddy of Ypsilanti, MI; one brother, Richard Watkins of Riverdale; and one granddaughter, Jessica Nicole Maxwell of Roopville.
