Mr. Herman L. Shaddix, 96, of Columbus, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville.
Mr. Shaddix was born April 1, 1920, in Grantville, son of the late Tyree and Jessie Brown Shaddix. A veteran of service in World War Two, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer from the U. S. Army after 30 years of service. He had lived in Columbus since 1962, was Methodist by faith, and had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Officers Association.
Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Beverly and Elmer West of Coolidge; son and daughter in-law, Brandt and Elizabeth Shaddix of Patterson, LA; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion Justiss Shaddix.
A family interment service was held Sunday, April 2, in the Grantville Cemetery.
