Herman Carnell Brock

Mr. H. C. Brock, 92, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at his home. Mr. Brock was born January 11, 1924, in Lindale, son of the late John Brock and Lois Logan Brock Williams. A veteran of service in the U. S. Army Air Corps during World War Two, he lived in Hogansville most of his life, retired as an electrician from Uniroyal, Inc. after more than 40 years of service, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church, where he was a deacon for over 55 years and had served as a Sunday School teacher. Mr. Brock loved his family and was an avid supporter of all their athletic activities for many years, and had recently attended a great-grandson's baseball game. Survivors include his son, Mark Brock of Hogansville; grandchildren, Shannon Brock and his wife Melanie of Hogansville, Erin Hanner and her husband Scotty of LaGrange; great-grandchildren, Devin Brock, Courtney Hanner, Brooklyn Brisky, Austin Hanner, Paisley Brock, Olivia Brock; sister, Helen Ramsey of Hogansville; brother, Felton Williams of LaGrange; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Rowe Brock. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 30, at Highland Baptist Church. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
