Mrs. Helen Kitchens Cox, 82, of LaGrange, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mrs. Cox was born June 29, 1937, in Tennille, Georgia, daughter of the late Horace and Ethel Kitchens. A former resident of Jonesboro, she had lived in LaGrange for the past ten years and was a member of Bible Church of God in Union City. She attended the Women's College of Georgia in Milledgeville and retired from Sam's Club as the jewelry department manager. Mrs. Cox enjoyed baking and traveling, with her favorite destination being Savannah Her love for her family was the most important part of her life.
Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Cathy Hunt of LaGrange, Pam and Steve Galloway of Hogansville; sister, Glenda Story and her husband Thomas of Sandersville; grandchildren, Kerrie Smith and her husband Brandon, Makaile Hunt, and Evan Kidd; great-grandchildren, Carter Smith and Collins Smith; special lifelong friends, Linda Boyles of Jonesboro, Lorry Weaver of Long Beach, MS; loving niece and nephews; and many friends that she cared for and considered her family.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, January 13, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Randall Hodge will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Sunday night, January 12.
