Mrs. Hazel Williamson Stitcher, 89, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Born March 12, 1933, in Lowell, Mrs. Stitcher was the daughter of the late Homer Glen Williamson and Nedra Godbee Williamson. She was a resident of Hogansville most of her life, was a member of the Hogansville Pilot Club, attended the Hogansville Senior Center, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Always busy and on the go, Mrs. Stitcher enjoyed flea markets, took care of everyone, and loved her animals.
Survivors include her daughters, Audrey and Wayne Chandler of McDonough and Ann Smith and Ronnie Thompson of Jackson; daughter in-law, Bonnie Stitcher of Villa Rica; sisters, Evelyn Higgins and Shirley Ashbaugh; brother, Roger Williamson, all of Hogansville; grandchildren, David Smith, Dawn Howell, Scott Chandler, and Steve Chandler; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stitcher was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Merle Stitcher; son, Michael Stitcher; and brothers, Steve Williamson and Randall Williamson.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Sunday evening.
