Mr. Harold Kenneth Spradlin, 89, of Hogansville, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018, at his home.
Mr. Spradlin was born April 6, 1929, in Hogansville, son of the late George and Corrie Mae Hay Spradlin. A U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War, he retired from Bellsouth and also owned and operated Spradlin Cabinet Shop for more than twenty years. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers, was a former member of the Hogansville City Council, was Pentecostal by faith, and had served as an Elder at Courts of Praise Worship Center. Mr. Spradlin is remembered as a man who enjoyed working, loved the outdoors, and could do anything related to construction, farming and technology.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Spradlin of Hogansville; daughter and son in-law, Joy and Nelson Martin of LaGrange; son and daughter in-law, Ken and Marsha Spradlin of Hogansville; brother and sister in-law, Charles and Sherry Spradlin of Newnan; grandchildren, Dan Martin and his wife Mariana, Rachel Messerly and her husband Roger, Erica Williford and her husband Weston; and ten great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Weston Williford and Dr. Richard Hanner will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night.
