Mr. Harold Wayne Evans, affectionately called "Bubba," passed away at the age of 64, on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation in Newnan. He had lived the last three years of his life at Avalon.
He was born August 23, 1952, in Grantville, son of the late Sidney (Doc) Evans and Faye Brooks Evans. He never married, was preceded in death by his one brother, Terry Evans, and is survived by his nephew, Dewayne Evans; sister in-law, Wanda Evans; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Wayne worked a short while as a janitor for the school system and with Gold Kist Packing in Newnan. He enjoyed drawing, talking with his large group of family and friends on the phone or in person, and spending time with his beloved cat "Knuckle Head." While living at Avalon, he loved to play bingo, visit, and watch movies.
He was a great story-teller, had a wonderful sense of humor, was smart and quick-witted, and was a friend to everyone he met. He was a strong Christian and wouldn't think twice about asking "What do you believe?" He was a very special person and truly a gift from God. The family expresses special thanks to Avalon for all your attention and care of their special gift. He will be terribly missed by all.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, December 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Gene Minix will officiate and interment will be in Southview Cemetery in Moreland.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 3 Friday.
