Mr. Harmon D. Caldwell, Jr., 89, of Alvaton, passed away Friday, November 23, 2018, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange.
Mr. Caldwell was born February 17, 1929, in Alvaton, son of the late Harmon Delos Caldwell and Fannie Keith Caldwell. A veteran of service in the U.S. Air Force, he owned and operated a service station for many years and was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Carmel United Methodist Church, the American Legion, and the Georgia Cattlemen's Association. Mr. Caldwell had also served 23 years as a director of Southern Rivers Energy.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Alice Caldwell; daughter and son in-law, Kaye and Michael Todd; son and daughter in-law, David and Susan Caldwell, all of Alvaton; and grandchildren, Joseph B. Todd and Bowman K. Caldwell.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 27, at Carmel United Methodist Church at Alvaton. The Reverend Bob Tobias and the Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
