Hannah Curry Reid

MRS. HANNAH C. REID Mrs. Hannah Curry Reid, 85, of Catawba, SC and formerly of the Harrisonville Community of Troup County, died Monday, May 17, 2010, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, at the graveside in Providence Cemetery in Harrisonville, with the Reverend Wayne Hester officiating. Born July 27, 1924, in Blackstock, SC, Mrs. Reid was the daughter of the late Joe Brice Curry and the late Lillian Stewart Curry. She lived in Harrisonville for many years before making her home in Catawba in 2005, and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she had served as church hostess and as treasurer of the United Methodist Women. Survivors include her sons, Edward R. Adkins, Sr. and his wife, Sylvia, of Monroe, NC and Donald R. Adkins of Catawba; daughters, Myra A. Little of Rock Hill, SC, Nancy A. Snead and her husband, David, of Clover, SC, and Dianne Thomas and her husband, Michael Parrish, of Catawba; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herman Adkins, Jr. and Robert A. Reid. Memorial contributions may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrisonville or to Good Samaritan United Methodist Church in Lake Wylie, SC. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
