MR. GRADY W. THOMPSON Mr. Grady W. Thompson, 79, of Warm Springs, died Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14, at Community Chapel Church in Pine Mountain Valley. Pastor Rick Lipp and Shane Lipp will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Thompson was born December 28, 1930, in Meriwether County, son of the late Homer and Mildred Sanders Thompson. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he lived in Meriwether County most of his life and was a member and deacon of Community Chapel Church in Pine Mountain Valley. He retired from American Excelsior Co. in Woodbury in 1986 and then worked for Loy's Office Supplies in LaGrange until 2009. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bonner Thompson of Warm Springs; son and daughter in-law, Danny and Becky Thompson of Shiloh; daughters and sons in-law, Sharon and Richard Williams of LaGrange and Cindy and Rocky Janney of Valley, AL; sisters, Elaine Crawford of Waycross, Doris Carlisle of Woodbury, and Muriel White of Cocoa Beach, FL; brother, Gordon Thompson of Stovall; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, David Thompson. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 5 until 7 Saturday evening, February 13th, at Claude A.
