Mrs. Gracie Herndon Moore, 77, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Mrs. Moore was born November 24, 1947, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Leonard and Valena Collier Herndon. A graduate of Hogansville High School, she lived in Hogansville most of her life and worked many years as a cashier. She was a loving mother and grandmother, enjoyed coloring and loved playing the lottery and other games of chance.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Moore of Hogansville; daughters, Angela Davis (Jason) of Soddy Daisy, TN, Tabatha Heard of Dawsonville; son, Joseph Bryan Moore of Hogansville; grandchildren, Amber Smith, Justin Bishop, Holly Foster, Haydan Davis, Heidi Davis; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda Gallaway and Gail Searles; and brothers, Richard Herndon and James Herndon, all of Hogansville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Patricia Williams, Janice Wilson, and Delores Gaddy; and her brothers, Larry Herndon and William "Buck" Herndon.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Greg Morris will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8.
