MRS. GOULD P. STALEY
Mrs. Emma Gould Prather Staley, 93, of LaGrange and formerly of Hogansville, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Hospice LaGrange.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 5, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Minister Frank Lyons and Reverend Vernon Prather will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m., Thursday.
Mrs. Staley was born October 30, 1918, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Ridley and Vesta Calhoun Prather. A resident of LaGrange for the past twelve years, she lived in Hogansville most of her life, retired from Uniroyal, Inc. after 42 years of service and was employed by RAM Manufacturing for four years. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ in LaGrange and was active in the Ladies Bible Class.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Melissa Weathers and her husband, Mike, and Kevin Staley Cantrell and his wife, Dana, all of Monroe, Susan Staley Prestridge and her husband, Jeff, of Five Points, AL; daughter in-law, Ellen Staley of LaGrange; sisters, Ann Wager and Sylvia Polin, both of Port Richey, FL; brothers, Joel Prather of The Villages, FL, and Rev. Vernon Prather of Fortson; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, George T. Staley; and her son, Fred Staley.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
