Mrs. Gloria F. Sistrunk, 76, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2024, at her home.
Mrs. Sistrunk was born August 16, 1947, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Luther and Faye Gross Flournoy. She retired after serving as a store manager for more than 30 years at Bill's Dollar Store and Super Dollar Store in Hogansville and Greenville. A member of Greenville Baptist Church, she was a longtime children's Sunday School teacher and a member of the choir and the WMU and enjoyed singing and reading her Bible She loved her family dearly, and enjoyed getting her family together and especially being with her grandkids.
Survivors include her daughter, Virginia and Wayne Daniel of Greenville; sons, Alton Bowen of Greenville, Jeff and Sherry Bowen of Carrollton, Scott Bowen of Greenville; sisters, Elaine and Donald Hill of LaGrange, Mildred and Everett Crews of Warm Springs; brother, Kenneth Flournoy of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, including Dakota, Zachary, and Eli whom she raised as her own children; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Michael Dean Bowen and Ronald Curtis "Butch" Sistrunk; and her grandson, Stephen Kyle Daniel.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, at Greenville Baptist Church. The Reverend Jonathan Porter and the Reverend T J Boyd will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 12.
