MR. GERALD R. KOCH
Mr. Gerald Raymond Koch, 70, better known as Jerry to his family and friends, passed away, Sunday, June 3, 2012, at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon, of injuries he sustained in an automobile accident on April 24, 2012.
Jerry was born May 1, 1942, in St. Charles, MO, to the late Vesta and Emil Koch, and was predeceased by his son Richard Allen Koch. Jerry will always be remembered for his love and passion for family, friends and hunting. He was a long time member of the Middle Georgia Sportsman's Club in Lumpkin, participated in The Hunters for the Hungry program, and organized a program to sponsor a war veteran yearly to a hunting experience while challenging other hunt clubs in Georgia to do the same. Jerry was an avid supporter of the Pass It Down Program.
Jerry is survived by those he loved dearly, his wife, Angela Renee′ Koch; his daughter, Laura Michelle Powell and husband, Richard David "Rich" of Dardenne Prairie, MO; his wife's children, Michelle Bloxom and husband, David of Gloucester, VA, Jennifer Anne Jones of West Point; grandchildren, Richard David "Richie " Powell, Conrad Jarvis "CJ" Powell, Madeline Ainsley "Maddie" Powell, Jessica Renee′ Alsobrook, Chelsea Anne Jones, Cody Hunter Jones, Christian Destiny "Baby Lu" Jones; great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Renee′ "Chiggy" Alsobrook, Gunnar Alexander West; brother, Wayne LaRue "Bruz" Koch; brothers in-law, Jerry Lacy, John Lacy, Donald T. Lacy and wife, Deborah; sisters in-law, Melissa Schmidt and husband, Tom, Patty Lacy-Martin and husband, Michah; beloved friends, Jimmy Mullins, Jerry Lane, Alan Kidson, Tommy Doler, Aaron Barnett and too many others to mention.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The family will receive friends at Jerry and Renee's home immediately following the service.
