Mr. Gerald L. Gardner, 60, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at his home.
Mr. Gardner was born July 16, 1961, in Bedford, PA, where he completed school and excelled in track and field competitions. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he had been employed as a surveyor in Sarasota, FL and in the Atlanta area and had also worked for the Meriwether County Sheriff's Department. He attended the Hogansville Church of God, loved sports and music, and enjoyed wood-crafting and watching old Western shows.
Survivors include his daughters, Tuesday Gardner and Riley Gardner of Hogansville; his mother, Beatrice Gardner of Bedford, PA; sisters, Ethel Beining (Tim) of Chellsburg, PA and Linda Weyant (Raymond) of Bedford; brothers, Larry Gardner and Karl Gardner (Cheryl) of Bedford, Max Gardner (Pam) of Sarasoto, FL, and Dave Gardner of Phoenixville, PA. He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Gardner; and brother, Eric Gardner.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, at Hogansville Church of God, with the Reverend Randall Hodge officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.. prior to the memorial service.
