George A. Williams, Jr.

Mr. George A. Williams, Jr., 87, of Luthersville, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021, at Brightmoor Nursing Center in Griffin. Mr. Williams was born October 27, 1934, in Coweta County, son of the late George A. Williams and Laura Armstrong Williams. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he retired from civil service at Fort McPherson, was a longtime member of the Luthersville Cemetery Board, and was a member and deacon of Luthersville Baptist Church. Mr. Williams served as his mother's caregiver for many years and also enjoyed transporting his friends to doctor's visits and to shop. Survivors include his sister, Laura Dean Hartley; nieces and nephews, Beth Hartley, Denise Hartley, George Hartley and Manuel Hartley. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night. Claude A.
