George Raymond (Ray) Summers

Mr. George Raymond (Ray) Summers, 63, of Franklin, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta. Mr. Summers was born November 10, 1952, in Athens, son of the late George Sidney Summers and Edna Glaze Summers. He lived in Heard County most of his life and retired from AT&T after more than 29 years of service. Survivors include his wife, Amanda Summers of Franklin; sons and daughters in-law, Brandon and Diandra Workman of Roopville and their child soon to be born, Jason and Katrina Workman of Woodland, AL and their daughters Sara Grace and Kloe; sister and brother in-law, Linda and Mike Purgason of Hogansville; nieces and their husbands, Cheri and Spence Fulford of Hogansville, Michelle and Scott Thompson of LaGrange, Courtney Hills of Carrollton, Tiffany Downing, MaKayla Downing, MaKenzie Downing all of Franklin; and many additional nieces and nephews. It was the desire of Mr. Summers that no service be conducted and the family is honoring his wishes. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 2 until 4 Sunday afternoon, November 13, at the City of Franklin Community Center, 2484 Franklin Parkway in Franklin. Claude A.
