George L. Spivey, Sr.

Mr. George L. Spivey, Sr., 79, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, October 23, 2023, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Spivey was born May 3, 1944, in Elmore County, Alabama, son of the late George Lewis Spivey and Emma Smith Spivey. A resident of Heard County for the past 35 years, he was a retired construction foreman and enjoyed visiting the mountains.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda Spivey of Hogansville; daughter, Sheena Kay Beckom and her husband Sammy

of Hogansville; sons, George L. Spivey, Jr. and his wife Sandra of Scottsboro, AL, Bobby Spivey and his wife Christy of Hogansville; sisters, Pat Boozer (Fred) of Titus, AL, Diane McWhorter (James) of Florida, Katie Washam (Eddie) of Deatsville, AL; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.

The family is honoring Mr. Spivey's wishes that a memorial service not be conducted.
