Mr. George A. Hambrick, 72, of LaGrange, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2016, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Hambrick was born March 18, 1944, in Atlanta, son of the late Henry and Mary Helen Vaughn Hambrick. A resident of LaGrange for the past 27 years, he was a retired construction worker and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Shelby Hambrick of LaGrange; daughters and son in-law, Kathy and Steve Kirkland of Hogansville and Christie McClung, also of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, Shane and Connie McClung of West Point; grandchildren, Leslie Moman, Mallory Blanks, Britt Moman, Kyle Kirkland, Ashley Clifton, Kayla O'Neal, and Wesley McClung; six great-grandchildren; and his former pastor and close friend, Rev. James Moon.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell and the Reverend Orman Harcrow officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 until 11:30 Wednesday morning and at other times will be at the home of Kathy and Steve Kirkland at 377 Old Hammett Road in Hogansville.
