MR. CURTIS DAWSON
Mr. Curtis Dawson, 80, of LaGrange, died Monday, April 22, 2013, at Hospice LaGrange.
he funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 24, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Rev. Max McCord, Rev. Dale Prather, and Chaplain Robert Dawson will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night.
Mr. Dawson was born December 12, 1932, in Thomaston, son of the late Robert Newton Dawson and Lucille Parker Dawson. A resident of LaGrange since 1999, he lived in Thomaston most of his life, was a member of East Thomaston Baptist Church, and retired as carpentry shop supervisor from Martha Mills after more than 26 years of service. During his employment, he was involved in company league softball and, in later years, he enjoyed golf and bowling.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Keith Dawson of LaGrange; daughters, Linda and Jimmy Knight of Thomaston, Virginia and John McKenzie of McDonough; sons, Larry and Ann Dawson of Thomaston, Terry Keith of Hogansville; sister, Margaret Boswell of Thomaston; grandchildren, Robert Dawson, Chris Dawson, Scott Dawson, Steven Knight Melissa Knight, Craig Davenport, David Crews, Russ Crews, John Crews, Katie Fox, Ashley Coe; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Peggy Hamilton of Greenville; brother in-law, Eugene and Willene Keith of Newnan; special friend, Bridgette Tucker; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Audrey Ingram and Lois Cargile; granddaughter, Regina Weathers; and great-grandson, Kandler Dawson.
