George Lee Conort

Mr. George L. Conort, 62. of Grantville, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at his home. Mr. Conort was born August 14, 1953 in Atlanta and lived in Atlanta until making his home in Grantville in 2002. He retired after working in the construction industry. Survivors include his mother, Emily Conort of Grantville; sisters, Nora Maddox of Norcross, Carol Conort of Grantville; brother, William Albert Conort III of Lawrenceville; five nieces and nephews; six great-nieces and nephews; and a great-great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, William Albert Conort, Jr. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Resthaven Gardens of Memory in Decatur. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
