Mrs. Geneva Oliver Maxwell, 79, of Heflin, Alabama, passed away, Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at her home.
Born January 13, 1937 in Tallassee, Alabama, Mrs. Maxwell was the daughter of the late John Ray Oliver and Fannie Mae Guy Allen. She lived in Hogansville for 14 years before making her home in Helfin four years ago, was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Ranburne, Alabama, and loved crocheting and playing bingo.
Survivors include her husband, Pete Maxwell of Heflin; daughters and sons in-law, Betty Ann Hill and Billy White of Heflin, and Tracy and Greg Chronic of Corinth; sons and daughter in-law, Charles Ray Sears of Graham, AL and Kerney Swann and Sandra Medlin of Roanoke, AL; brothers and sisters in-law, Billy Wayne and Cathy Allen of West Point and James and Dianne Allen of Hogansville; sisters, Flora Walters of LaGrange and Betty Jean Smith of Eastman; twelve grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren, including a special great granddaughter, Star Moreno. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Patty Lacky; granddaughter, Cambie Sears; great-granddaughter, Selena Moreno; brother, John Oliver, Jr.; and a sister, Ruby Lemerle Oliver.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Chad Burdette and the Reverend Debbie Dollar officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 until 2 Saturday afternoon.
