Geneva Hopson Boone

Mrs. Geneva Hopson Boone, 98 of Newnan, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2019 in Newnan. Born July 18, 1920 in Atlanta, Mrs. Boone was the daughter of the late Augustus and Frances Waller Hopson. A resident of Newnan most of her life, she was valedictorian of Heard County High School class of 1938, was Baptist by faith, and retired from Playtex after 46 years of service. Survivors include her daughters, Donna Waumans of Hogansville and Carole Nylander of Newnan; son and daughter in-law, Gary and Gwenda Boone of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boone was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Hall Boone; and her sons, Jerry Boone and Dennis Boone. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 5, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Bryan Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 until 2 Friday afternoon. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
