Mrs. Gayle Hanners Hendrix, 75, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, November 6, 2023, at her home.
Mrs. Hendrix was born October 19, 1948, in LaGrange, daughter of the late Adelle Bowen Hanners and Jessie O'Neal Hanners. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, she was a 1966 graduate of Hogansville High School, was a member of Lighthouse Tabernacle of Jesus Christ in Hogansville, and retired from the City of LaGrange. She had served as a Sunday School teacher and directed church plays and parties, and loved shopping, cooking for her family, and planning events and parties.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Hendrix; daughter, Kimberly and Randy White; sons, Chad and Tina Hendrix, all of Hogansville, Marc and Sherry Hendrix of LaGrange; sisters, Sherry Pruitt, June and L.T. Hogan all of Hogansville; grandchildren, Matthew and Hanna White, Nicholas White, Erica Hendrix, Mason Hendrix, Marcus Hendrix II; great-granddaughter, Madison White; step-grandchildren, Zoe Cantrell, Ryan Fretwell, Payton King; and step-great-granddaughter, Sophia Wright. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother in-law, James Levon Pruitt.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend David Simmons will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday.
