Gary Stanley Davis

Gary Stanley Davis, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Talbot County, Georgia, on November 29, 2022, after a brief battle with lung cancer. Born on April 13, 1940, in East Point, Georgia, he was the son of the late John Henry Davis Sr. and Lois Estelle Davidson Davis.

The first in his family to earn a regular high school diploma, Gary was a graduate of Brandon High School in Brandon, Florida, and attended management courses at University of South Florida in Tampa to support his 22-year career in chemical production management for International Minerals & Chemical Corporation, Gardinier Inc., and W. R. Grace & Co.

A longtime member of the Loyal Order of Moose and a man of many talents, Gary loved to play musical instruments, rehabilitate classic Ford Mustangs, hunt, fish, rescue and adopt out abandoned pets, and give practical assistance to anyone in need.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 34 years Jacqueline Boyd Davis; children Randy Davis (Rhonda Hutto) of Lake Park, Georgia, David Davis (Barb) of Dade City, Florida, and Darice Baysinger (David) of Moore Haven, Florida; one brother, Eddie Davis (Sylvia) of Land O' Lakes, Florida; six grandchildren Bryttnie, Cody, Damon, Gage, Logan, and Troy; four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Juanita Wilson; five brothers Robert Davis, John Davis Jr., George Davis, Jack Davis, and Fred Davis; and the mother of his children Dorothy Randall "Judi" Davis.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, December 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Bert Arnold will officiate and interment will be in Luthersville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday.
