Gail Duncan Nixon

Mrs. Gail Duncan Nixon, 71 of LaGrange, passed away, Monday November 16, 2021, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Born March 27, 1950, in LaGrange, Mrs. Nixon was the daughter of the late Buford and Estelle Baker Duncan. She was a lifelong resident of Troup County, loved the outdoors, cooking, and would never let anybody go hungry. She retired as lunchroom manager at Mountville Elementary School after 34 years of service and was known as "Maw-maw Gail" by all of "her babies" she fed every day. Survivors include her husband, Ricky Nixon, Sr., sons and daughters in-law, Ricky Nixon, Jr. and his wife, Amy Hyatt Nixon, and Andy Nixon and his wife, Amy Cummings Nixon, all of LaGrange; a sister, Ann Phillips of Newnan; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. The family will hold a service at a later date. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
