MRS. GAIL BOWEN Mrs. Gail Pope Bowen, 71, of Greenville, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, January 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with Brother Ron Fancher officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night. Mrs. Bowen was born October 13, 1942, in Laurel, MS, daughter of the late Jasper Tilmon Pope, Sr. and Irma Williams Pope. Before making her home in Meriwether County in 2006, she lived most of her life in Palmetto, was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Tyrone, and was a retired painter. Survivors include her husband, Bill Bowen of Greenville; daughter, Candy Reeves and her husband, Edwin of Luthersville; son, Billy Reddoch of Greenville; step-daughters, Cherri Wyatt and her husband, Tim of Hull, Brandy Jones of Statesboro; step-son, Billy James Bowen, Jr. and his wife, Shea of Bainbridge; brother, Jasper Tilmon Pope, Jr. and his wife, Rena of Gulfport, MS; twelve grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Luthersville Volunteer Fire Department, Station 2, %Roy Haney, P. O. Box 90, Luthersville, GA 30251. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
