Mr. Fred L. Johnson, 86, of Franklin, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home. Born November 14, 1929 in Meriwether County, Mr. Johnson was the son of the late Marvin and Lela Johnson. He had lived in Hogansville for 31 years before making his home in Heard County in 1993, was a member of Glenloch Baptist Church, and retired from Duracell. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Ramona and Rick Hamilton of Roopville; son, Tommy Johnson of Mobile, AL.; grandsons, David and Stephanie Hamilton of Orange Beach, AL and Shane and Katie Hamilton of Carrollton; and great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Hamilton of Fayetteville and Jaiden Hamilton of Carrollton. In addition to his parents, Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Davis Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 7, at Glenloch Baptist Church. The Reverend Neil Awbrey will officiate and interment will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Sunday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
