Mr. Francis E. Driessens, 84, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Driessens was born June 18, 1940, in Sheffield, Illinois, son of the late August and Alice Bloomy Driessens. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army, he lived in Hogansville most of his life and retired from James River Corporation in Newnan after 45 years of service. He enjoyed farming and spent many hours every day tending to his farm and was on his tractor as recently as a week before his death.
Survivors include his daughters and sons in-law, Angie and John McCormack of Watkinsville, Kandy and Hoyt Pruitt, Jr. of Franklin; granddaughters and grandsons in-law, Ashley and Daniel Hudson of Jefferson, Lauren and G.W. Hendrix of Athens, and Lizzy Pruitt of Franklin; a great-grandson, Asher Hudson; and a special niece and neighbor, Terrie and Fish Prescott and their son, Paul. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Garner Driessens in 1971 and his wife, Agnes Kent Driessens in 2006.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Hoyt Pruitt, Jr. and Kevin Wegienka will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
