Frances Hunt Wood

MRS. FRANCES H. WOOD Mrs. Frances Hunt Wood, 87, of LaGrange, passed away, Friday, December 19, 2014, at Hospice LaGrange. Mrs. Wood was born March 20, 1927, in Heard County, daughter of the late Tommy Felder Hunt and Sally Wilson Hunt. A resident of Troup County most of her life, she was a member of East Vernon Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, had served as a volunteer at Berta Weathersby School, and served 25 years as a member of the West Georgia Health Auxiliary. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Brenda and Julius Haynes, Barbara and Gary Storie; and son and daughter in-law, Steve and Pam Wood, all of LaGrange; sisters, Joyce Willingham, Nancy Copeland and Debra Gaddy, all of Hogansville, Linda Scott of Newnan, Peggy Powell of Franklin; nine grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Wood; sisters, Ruby Gay and Sheila Taylor; and brothers, Floyd Hunt, Wayne Hunt, Ray Hunt, Jimmy Hunt, and Jerry Hunt. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, December 21, at Oakside Baptist Church in LaGrange. Mr. Sparky Smallwood and the Reverend Don Ellison will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., Sunday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
