Mrs. Frances Clydene Long "Fran" Walls, 84, formerly of Luthersville, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024, at The Haven at Newnan.
Mrs. Walls was born January 26, 1940, in Carthage, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Clyde O. Long and Alice Brown Whitehead. After graduating from Carthage High School, Mrs. Walls sang with big band era groups, such as The George Dorner Orchestra and Franny Farkle and the Farkleers, all over the southeast. She was a resident of Meriwether County for many years, was a graduate of LaGrange College, retired as a Registered Nurse from West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange, and was a former member of the Greenville and Luthersville Lions Club.
Survivors include her daughter and son in-law, Dana and David Padgett of Temple and her children, Jennifer Brewer and her husband Jeremiah Brewer, and Jesse Thorne; son and daughter in-law, David and Denise Griffith of Fayetteville and his son, Matthew Davis and his husband Will Davis; four great-grandchildren, Jason, Dylan, Connor, and Adeline; and sisters, Rilla Rae Miller of Springfield, MO, Shirley Sanders of St. Charles, MO, Cecil Hargave of Springfield, MO and LuAnna Reddick of Union. MO. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Walls was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Hann Walls.
A memorial service is not being planned at this time.
