Frances Smith Eason

Mrs. Frances Smith Eason, 86, of LaGrange, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, November 5, 2017. Mrs. Eason was born May 28, 1931, in Carroll County, daughter of the late Herschel and Ella Robinson Smith. A resident of Hogansville most of her life, she worked for many years at Uniroyal, Hogansville Café, and Super Foods and retired as a CNA from Franklin Nursing Home. She was a member of Baptist Tabernacle Church in LaGrange, loved sewing, and enjoyed caring for her family. Survivors include her daughters, Olene and James Arnold and Imalethia Arnold all of LaGrange, Karen Stitcher and Jeff Kent of Hogansville; son, Gene and Denise Eason of LaGrange; brothers, Norman and Jutta Smith of LaGrange, Mallory and Nell Smith of Bowdon; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several very special nephews and nieces. She was a preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Eason. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 8, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jimmy McMillian will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
