Mrs. Faye Moore Trussell, 95, of Fairburn, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at Christian City Rehabilitation Center in Union City
Mrs. Trussell was born on a farm in Heard County to Johnnie and Pearl Wilson Moore on October 26, 1925. She graduated from Hogansville High School in 1942, earned a Bachelors degree in elementary education from Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, was a first-grade teacher for 30 years, and retired from the Fulton County School System. She was involved in the Georgia Retired Teachers Association and was a member First Baptist Church of Hogansville and Bethel Baptist Church in Heard County.
She is preceded in death by her husband Edgar LaVaughn Trussell; daughter, Beverly Ann Wallace; siblings, Frank Moore, Pierce Moore, Lucille Wilson, Mavis Garrett, and Bobbie Arrington; and a great-granddaughter. Survivors include her son and daughter in-law, Jimmy and Vicki Young of Fairburn; son in-law, Mike Wallace of Griffin; grandchildren, John Chandler, Sarabeth Peavey, Emily Young, and Jason Barwick; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Don Helms will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Tuesday.
