Mrs. Fay Morris, 86, of Hogansville, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, July 28, 2022.
She was a caring and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose devotion to her family and her faith is a legacy that her family will forever cherish. The family feels peace in knowing this mother's fervent prayers are ringing through the heavens.
Mrs. Morris was born January 30, 1936, in Randolph County, Alabama, a daughter of the late Durward Franklin Jacks and Bertha Lee Clark Jacks. A resident of Troup County most of her life, she retired from Uniroyal in Hogansville and later retired from the State of Georgia Pathways Center in LaGrange. Mrs. Morris was always active in church, serving as a Sunday School teacher and a WMU member, and was a member of Welcome All Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and loved reading her Bible.
Survivors include her children, Wanda and Mark Abbott of Fort Worth, TX, Edward and Janet Morris of Moreland, Elaine and Chris Tucker, Angel and Guy Spradlin all of Hogansville; grandchildren, Courtney and Steven Daniel, Christopher Abbott, Stephanie and Anthony Gallo, Benjamin Morris, Michael Tucker, Evan Tucker, Kaitlin Tucker, Andrew Spradlin, Zoe Spradlin, Andi Spradlin; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend and companion, her furbaby Rusty. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward R. Morris, and her sister, Pharon Lee Huntsman.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 31, at Welcome All Baptist Church in Hogansville. Dr. Tommy McLeroy and the Reverend Jim Hethcox will officiate and entombment will be Monday at Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30.
