MRS. FANNIE BARBER
Mrs. Fannie Kate Barber, 85, of Hogansville, died Thursday, July 3, 2008, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Dr. Gary Howard will officiate and interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether county.
Mrs. Barber was born August 10, 1922, in Coweta county, daughter of the late Alpton Melson and the late Lizzie Moore Melson. She lived in Coweta county most of her life and was the wife of the late Joe Will Barber.
Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Freeman of Hogansville; sons, Harold Barber of Luthersville, Jimmy Barber of Hogansville, and James Barber of Grantville; sisters, Lillian Horne of Newnan and Louise McAfee of Peachtree City; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robert Barber, and daughters, Josephine Norton and Ruby Gresham.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
