Mrs. Evelyn DeLoach Haines, 84, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2016, at her home.
Mrs. Haines was born February 8, 1931, in Lone Oak, daughter of the late Ocie Lee DeLoach and Ida Whitehurst DeLoach. She returned to make her home in Hogansville in 2014 after living in Jonesboro for 31 years, and was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Hogansville. For many years, she operated Self's Upholstery Shop in Hogansville and later assisted in the operation of her daughter's shop, Quilts and Fixins in Jonesboro. Her love for her family was the most important part of her life and she enjoyed quilting and gardening.
Survivors include her daughters and son in-law, Jeanne Lowery, Susan and Tony Williamson, all of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, Terry and Sarah English of Clinton, KY; brother, Jack DeLoach of Union City; sister, Iris Roberson of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Laurie Gallaway, Kristy Johnson, Traci Sharpton, LeAnn Lehigh, and Jennifer Baker; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred R. Haines; and daughter, Dianne Carter.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 until 4, Monday afternoon.
