Evander Lowry

Mr. Evander Lowry, 82, of Luthersville, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, at his home.

Mr. Lowry was born July 6, 1940, in Union Chapel, NC, son of the late Alamander and Addie Wilkins Lowry. A resident of Georgia for more than fifty years, he was employed in road and bridge construction and at the General Motors Lakewood Plant before starting his own business. He had a true entrepreneural spirit and was a general contractor, had built, owned and operated rental storage facilities, and had owned and operated Red Rooster Restaurant in Luthersville.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilla Lowry of Luthersville; daughter, Shirlene Lowry of Hogansville; sons and daughters in-law, Ernest and Paula Lowry of Luthersville, Van and Carol Lowry of LaGrange; sister, Faye Clawson of Buffalo, NY; brother, Alamander Lowry, Jr. of Shannon, NC; five grandchildren, Allison Lowry (Joey), Lowry Massengale (Chad), Heath Lowry (Maya), Ezra Lowry, Seth Lowry; and a great-granddaughter, Lola Grizzard.

The family will receive friends at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7.

Funeral services and interment will be conducted Saturday, December 10, in the Lowry Family Cemetery in Union Chapel, NC
