MR. EUGENE BURNHAM
Mr. Eugene Burnham, 89, of Franklin, died Thursday, August 22, 2013, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 25, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend L. T. Hogan will officiate and interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Saturday night.
Mr. Burnham was born February 22, 1924, in Troup County, son of the late Norman Benjamin Burnham and Eva Jewel Smith Burnham. An Army veteran of World War Two, he was a retired brick mason, was a member of East Point West Church of God, and had lived in Heard County for 35 years. He was an avid fisherman and loved to build things.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dot Burnham of Franklin; his children, Jack Burnham of Palmetto, Don Burnham of Franklin, Kathy Thomason and her husband, Jimmy and Crystal Bagley and her husband, Randy all of Douglasville; sister, Jeanette Miller of Wadley, AL; fifteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard "Danny" Burnham; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
