Eugene Barber

MR. EUGENE BARBER Mr. Eugene Barber, 81, of Greenville, passed away Monday, November 2, 2015, at Hospice LaGrange. Mr. Barber was born April 3, 1934, in Meriwether County, son of the late John Kiser Barber and Nannie Roberta Hayes Barber. A resident of Meriwether County most of his life, he was a member of Stovall Baptist Church and retired from Milliken and Co. Live Oak Plant after 52 years of service. He enjoyed bird hunting and trained birddogs for many people. Survivors include his wife, Margie Barber of Greenville; son and daughter in-law, Grady and Karla Barber of LaGrange; daughter, Faye Stewart of Thomaston; sister, Mildred Crews of Luthersville; brother, Lindsey Barber of Luthersvillle; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Barber, Jonathan Andrew Barber, and April Crutchfield; and great-grandchildren, Layla Jones and Liam Jones. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 4, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Udell Addison and the Reverend Max McCord will officiate and interment will be in the Mountville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
