Esther Murphy Smith

Mrs. Esther Murphy Smith, 65, of Roanoke, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2020, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born June 28, 1954, in Newnan, daughter of the late Frank Stephen Murphy and the late Minnie Tumlin Murphy Meigs. She had made her home in Roanoke for a number of years and had been employed at Milliken and Company in LaGrange. Survivors include her son, Stephen Lee Dean; granddaughters, Kristan Renae Dean, Erin Lynn Dean, and Shannon Hodges; half-sisters, Joyce Caldwell and Ara Nelson; and half-brothers, Kenneth Gerald Murphy and Roger Stephen Murphy. In keeping with Mrs. Smith's wishes, no formal service will be held. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville was in charge of arrangements.
