MRS. ESTHA SPENCE COON Mrs. Estha Spence Coon, 96, of Canton and formerly of Loudon, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Regents Park Nursing Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Mrs. Coon was born March 24, 1918, in Meriwether County, daughter of the late Thomas Henry Spence and Leola Johnson Spence. A graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville, she was a retired teacher and was a member of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church in Cherokee County. Survivors include her son, Ralph Herbert Coon, Jr. and his wife, Beth of Canton; daughter, Carolyn Rumph and her husband, Pierce of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Jeffrey Coon and his wife, Kelly, Elizabeth Coon, Katherine Coon, Tracy Aspen and her husband, Jeff; and great-grandchildren, Hannah Aspen, Juliet Aspen, and Isabelle Aspen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Herbert Coon. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 28, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Winston Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11 Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Flat United Methodist Church, 4056 East Cherokee Dr., Canton, GA 30115. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 10 until 11 Saturday morning, February 28th, at Claude A.
